Matthew Carter is the inspiration behind Ghost, a New York Times best-selling novel by Jason Reynolds. Recently named one of America's 100 most-loved books by the Great American Read, Carter's story has served as welcomed introduction to literature for thousands of students, and given thousands more an opportunity to see themselves on the page. While Matthew has spent the last 18 years working in clinical research, he has always been a passionate advocate for young people. Now as an inspirational and heartfelt storyteller, Matthew travels throughout the country sharing his story of triumph over trauma. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Science from the University of Maryland and currently works at Ohio State University as a Internal Review Board (IRB) Protocol Analyst.
