As diverse student populations increase in learning spaces and classrooms, let's explore the need to understand the meaning and benefits of implementing multicultural literature into classroom libraries and instruction. This presentation provides innovative research based approaches that support curriculum standards and explore multicultural literature beyond traditional ways to share literature. Through collaboration, the participants will compile a list of titles, purposes and strategies for reading multicultural literacy to, with and by students.
